Is Feminine & Masculine Energy concept bullshit?
I see many women struggle to understand the concept of masculine and feminine energy and apply it for their own benefit in everyday life.
Part of the confusion comes from the fact that coaching and wellness industry has become very noisy and there are all sorts of opinions on this topic ranging from:
"there is no such thing as feminine and masculine energy and all polarity work is bulshit, we are all just humans"
to:
making it all too culty and linking feminine and masculine energy with tantra, which is totally wrong and makes this concept work against women to submit to patriarchal norms and beliefs even more, portraying women as dolls who should not do anything.
This happens because those who do not understand the concept criticize it loudly and because we have teachers and coaches (and even influencers) who never experienced the inner power of their own masculine or feminine and therefore they do not embody what they teach, but rather deny it or follow traditional gender norms glorifying the old days of patriarchy.
Let me explain:
If a coach or a teacher who is female has never experienced in their life having to deal with excessive masculine energy, like for example in the corporate sector, they cannot relate to taking over that masculine energy armor women in corporate have to do in order to thicken their skin and show up equal to their male colleagues.
If a coach or a teacher who is female has previously worked in education or as an artist or was just a stay at home mom or any profession that naturally leads to expressing the feminine energy where it's seen as power and not a detriment (like in heavily dominating male industries) this coach has most probably never struggled with being in excess masculine energy coming from their profession and therefore doesn't understand why is this even a thing.
I hate to see when such coaches criticize the concept from their own limited experience.
And the problem is most of the coaches do not come from corporate or heavily dominating male industries and therefore find the concept confusing.
Now I do understand that most of the women in today's world, even if they are not exposed and consumed by excess masculine energy from their work environment tend to be in their masculine from the way they live their life outside of work:
- house chores
- mental load
- no help from anyone
- chooses to do everything by herself as she does it the best, etc...
I mean being stay at home wife, especially a mom is more than a full time job!!!
And when we top that up with having to operate in our masculine energy while at work almost 100% of the time, for the women in male dominated industries, this is definitely creating a huge disbalance. These women do not have the chance like women in other more creative industries (education, design, art) to express their feminine nature through their profession.
Every woman needs time off work and domestic duties to connect to her own femininity and express her creative juices.
And over the last 7 years that I do this work, I have seen how it has benefited so many of my clients who are not only women in corporate (banking, transportation, science, tech), but also my clients who are artists, musicians, teachers, designers and massage therapists.
